LAWRENCE, Kan. – Following another historic Kansas Baseball season,
Tyson LeBlanc,
Augusto Mungarrieta and
Boede Rahe all earned postseason awards from various national outlets.
LeBlanc received First Team All-American by Perfect Game, Second Team All-American from the NCBWA, Third Team All-American by Baseball America and ABCA/Rawlings and ABCA/Rawlings Central All-Region First Team. Mungarrieta and Rahe each were voted to the ABCA/Rawlings Central All-Region Second Team.
LeBlanc is the sixth First Team All-American in Kansas history and the first in 20 years since Don Czyz in 2006.
A native of Maurice, Louisiana, LeBlanc etched his named in the Kansas record book by setting a new single-season school record with 25 home runs. He started every game at shortstop in 2026 and finished the year with a .341 batting average, 87 hits, 12 doubles, 69 RBIs, 64 runs, 38 walks and 11 stolen bases this season. LeBlanc had 180 total bases which was the second most in a season in KU history.
LeBlanc is seventh in the nation with 180 total bases, tied for eighth nationally with 25 home runs, tied for 24th in the country with 69 RBIs and tied for 25th nationally with 87 hits.
An All-Big 12 First Team selection, LeBlanc was also named the NCBWA District 6 Co-Player of the Year, a Dick Howser Trophy semifinalist and the NCBWA National Hitter of the Month for May. He won the Most Outstanding Player for the Lawrence Regional and Big 12 Tournament as well.
Mungarrieta started 55 of 63 games at catcher for the Jayhawks this season. He hit .292/.386/.584, with 13 doubles, 17 home runs, 50 RBIs, 41 runs scored and 21 walks. Mungarrieta led the team in hit by pitches (15) and was second on the team in slugging percentage (.584) and home runs (17). His 17 home runs are tied for the fifth most in a season in Kansas history.
The Carabobo, Venezuela, native was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team after slashing .462/.500/1.000 (6-for-13), with a double, two home runs, five RBIs and four runs scored. Mungarrieta had multiple hits in all three games, while he scored at least one run and drove in at least one run in all three contests as well.
Rahe was one of the key pieces to the success of the Kansas pitching staff in 2026. Besides a pair of Friday starts during conference play, Rahe worked out of the bullpen in high leverage situations this season. He went 6-1 with 11 saves and a 4.27 ERA in 59.0 innings pitched across 31 appearances. Rahe recorded 80 strikeouts compared to only 21 walks.
A native of Marion, Iowa, Rahe led the Big 12 with 11 saves this season, which was also tied for 14th in the country and tied for sixth in KU history. His 31 appearances were tied for third in the Big 12 and tied for 12th nationally. Rahe threw more than 1.0 inning in 22 of his 31 appearances. He had a strikeout in 29 of those outings and multiple strikeouts in 21 contests.
LeBlanc is the 17th All-American in school history, while LeBlanc, Mungarrieta and Rahe are the 28th, 29th and 30th ABCA All-Region honorees in program history.
Kansas won three championships in 2026, including the Big 12 regular season title, the Big 12 Tournament title and the Lawrence Regional title. The Jayhawks finished the year with a 45-18 overall record to tie the most wins ever in a season. KU qualified for a second consecutive NCAA Tournament for only the second time in program history and hosted the first ever Lawrence Regional and Lawrence Super Regional.
