Kansas Golf Has Three Named Cobalt All-America Scholars

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Three members of the Kansas men's golf team were named 2025-26 NCAA Division I Cobalt All-America Scholars on Monday as seniors Will King and Luke Honner, and sophomore Hartej Grewal received the honor. In total, 649 NCAA Division I athletes from 210 schools earned Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar recognition.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

King is a four-year Jayhawk and three-time recipient of the All-America Scholar award. A two-time College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic At-Large All-District selection, King has also made history as a two-time Big 12 Men's Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year, an award he won during both his junior and senior seasons. He appeared in 12 tournaments during his senior season, recording two top five placings and five top 10 finishes. King broke the school record for the lowest 54-hole tournament score at the Ka'anapali Classic in November, shooting a three-round total of 199 with rounds of 68-65-66. From Olathe, Kansas, King graduated from KU in May with an unblemished 4.0 GPA while majoring in molecular, cellular & developmental biology with a minor in business.

Honner played his final two seasons at Kansas after beginning his career at the University of South Dakota and earned the All-America Scholar award after both campaigns. A two-time CSC Academic At-Large All-District selection, Honner appeared in all 13 tournaments this season, with his best finish being a runner-up individual placing as he helped the Jayhawks win the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational on April 18-19 in Bloomington, Indiana. For his performance in Indiana, Honner was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Week on April 23. A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Honner earned his bachelor's degree from Kansas last month with 3.72 GPA while majoring in psychology with a minor in sport management.

Grewal finished his first season at Kansas and earns his first All-America Scholar honor after playing his freshman season at UC Riverside. He appeared in 12 tournaments and had four top 10 finishes, including a runner-up individual placing at the Windon Memorial Classic on Sept. 29-30. Grewal ranked fourth on the team with 16 rounds under par and added three rounds of even par on the season. From Pleasanton, California, Grewal is majoring in Pre-Business at Kansas and has a cumulative GPA of 3.30.

With the selections, Kansas men's golf has now had 14 student-athletes combine for 29 Cobalt All-America Scholar honors in head coach Jamie Bermel's tenure at KU.
