Reese Messer and freshman pin hitter
Taylor Stanley were named Big 12 Setter and Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Reese Ptacek was named to the Big 12 Starting Seven.
The award marks the second for Messer, the third-consecutive weekly nod for Stanley and the first weekly recognition of the season for Ptacek.
The trio of Jayhawks led Kansas to a 24
th consecutive set win, a program record and the longest active set win streak in the nation.
Messer anchored the offense with 11.33 assists per set with 68 total assists through a perfect opening weekend of conference play with sweeps of Houston and Texas Tech. She led the Jayhawks to a 0.315 attack percentage and 16 kills per set. The Olathe native added 11 digs and two blocks.
Stanley paced the Big 12 with 6.08 points per set and second with 4.83 kills per set. She tallied 29 kills through two matches alongside 20 digs and nine blocks.
Ptacek led the Jayhawks with 11 blocks at 1.83 blocks per set in addition to 20 kills at 3.33 kills per set.
Messer, Stanley, Ptacek and the Jayhawks return to action on Thursday night when they host No. 23 Utah in Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena at 6 p.m. CT.
