Freshman Darryn Peterson has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week (Jan. 19) in a vote of a media panel that covers the league. In being named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, Peterson is also a member of the Big 12 Starting Five for the second consecutive week and third time this season. He also earned the honor Nov. 10.
