The Big 12 Conference announced the 2019-20 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team on Wednesday, with a total of 856 student-athletes earning the distinction. Kansas had 73 student-athletes on the list, and 13 of the Jayhawks’ recipients earned perfect 4.0 grade point averages in the past year.

Claire (Dreyer) Tungesvik competed for the Kansas tennis program from 2011-14. She graduated from Kansas with a degree in community health, along with a business minor. Following her tennis career, the St. Louis, MO native continued her education at the University of Missouri where she earned a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
The Kansas women’s tennis team wrapped up their 2020 dual match campaign in which they finished 7-4 overall, a mark they reached after going on a five-game win streak before spring sports were canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
Head coach Todd Chapman announced Wednesday the addition of UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) transfer Tiffany Lagarde to the Kansas tennis team. Lagarde, an incoming junior, will be eligible to participate immediately and will have three more seasons of eligibility remaining when she suits up for the Jayhawks.
