Ben Wilson started at Kansas Athletics in July of 2015 as a Coordinator of Student-Athlete Development before being promoted to Interim Director of Student-Athlete Development in November of 2015. In July 2016 Wilson became the Director of Student-Athlete and Professional Development, and was later promoted to Senior Director of Student-Athlete Development and Leadership in 2022, a role in which he currently serves. Wilson is responsible for overseeing Jayhawk Career Blueprint. This program aims to help student-athletes develop professional skills, explore career interests, gain experience, and grow their professional network. Another key piece of preparing student-athletes for their post-collegiate success is coordinating financial education session and resources.

Along with Jayhawk Career Blueprint, Wilson helps plan and execute two signature events, The Rock Chalk Choice Awards and the Jayhawk K Ring Ceremony.

He was selected to be part of the cohort for the NCAA Leadership Academy Writing program in 2020-2021 and KU’s Aspiring Leaders program 2022.

A native of Lawrence, Kansas, Wilson was a member of the KU cross country and track and field’s teams (2010-2013) while earning his Bachelor of Science in Education, Sport Management. He would go on to receive his Master of Science in Education, Sport Management from KU in December of 2014. While in grad school he spent time as a substitute teacher and K Club intern.

Wilson and his wife Leslie, both lifelong Jayhawks, reside in Lawrence with their daughter Margaret and enjoy cheering on the Jayhawks.
