Brice Vignery joined the Kansas Football staff in 2025, working as the Assistant Director of High School/JuCo Relations and Player Development.

Vignery previously served as the head coach of the Butlcer Community College Grizzlies from 2022-24 and spent 16 years with the program. Vignery was named the 24th head coach in Butler program history on December 23, 2021.

In his 16 seasons with Butler as a player and coach, the Grizzlies have compiled a 127-51 record, winning seven conference titles as well as an NJCAA national championship in 2007.

Vignery won his first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Championship as head coach in 2024 as the Grizzlies finished 5-1 in conference play sharing the title with Hutchinson and Coffeyville. It marked Butler's 26th all-time conference title. The Grizzlies played a tough schedule taking on seven nationally ranked opponents in the 11-game schedule. They finished 4-1 on the road including a win over No. 1 ranked Hutchinson. Butler closed the season out ranked 12th nationally across NJCAA Division 1. Vignery helped mentor 19 All-Conference selections and three NJCAA All-Americans including the KJCCC Defensive Player of the Year and first team NJCAA All-American, defensive lineman Seven Cloud.

The 2023 season marked Vignery's second as head coach as he led Butler to a 5-5 record including a 3-2 home record at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex. Butler was nationally ranked in 10 of the 15 NJCAA polls across the 2023 season. The Grizzlies had 20 All-KJCCC selections including four first team selections. Marlin Dean and Issiah Walker were named NJCAA All-Americans under Vignery's tutelage. 25 Grizzlies signed with four year institutions to continue their athletic and academic careers with 23 of them signing with NCAA Division 1 schools. The Grizzlies had nine student-athletes named to the NJCAA All-Academic teams.

In his first year at the helm in the 2022 season, Vignery boasted an impressive 8-4 record that included wins over three top-15 ranked opponents (Garden City, Independence, Iowa Central). The Grizzlies also won the C.H.A.M.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl on December 3rd against 12th ranked Kilgore College, 28-24. The win was the first Grizzly bowl game win since the 2019 season.

Prior to the head coaching promotion, Vignery spent the previous seven seasons as Butler's offensive coordinator.

Butler was 2-4 during the Spring 2021 COVID-19 season with two games canceled due to the pandemic. Vignery coached the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Year in Eddie Lewis and had 10 offensive players named to the All-KJCCC teams. The Grizzly offense averaged 32.0 ppg and 382 yards/game during the 2021 season.

In 2019, Butler hit the 10-win milestone for the first time since 2012, ending the year 10-3. They finished tied for 2nd in the KJCCC and won, for the second straight season, the Midwest Classic bowl with a 33-23 vicotry over Trinity Valley. This was the Grizzlies first back-to-back bowl game wins since the 2007 & 2008 National title seasons. The Butler offense averaged 346.2 yds/game with 190.2 of those coming on the ground. They scored 28.4ppg. Brock Sturges, Butler running back, was awarded NJCAA All-American honors.

In 2018, Butler finished 8-4 overall, 3rd in the KJCCC and ended the season with a 34-30 victory in the Midwest Classic Bowl over NEO A&M, their first bowl win since 2011. The Grizzlies finished ranked 11th in the final NJCAA poll.

In 2017, Butler went 8-3 with a runner-up finish in the Jayhawk Conference and was 17th in the final NJCAA poll. The Grizzlies had 10 All-Conference selections.

In 2016, Butler played in the Salt City Bowl and had six All-Jayhawk Conference offensive selections – including NJCAA All-American wide receiver C.J. Sims and first-team All-Conference tackle Joey Palmer.

Vignery was promoted to co-offensive coordinator in 2015 as the Grizzlies finished 9-2 and ranked fifth in the final NJCAA poll. Butler had a conference-high nine All-KJCCC offense selections – including five first-team members (tight end Matt Jones, lineman Ben Powers, Garrison Wright, Blaise Fountain and fullback Trevor Crain). Second-team All-Conference running back Kobe McCrary led the nation with 22 rushing touchdowns and finished with 1,190 yards.

During 2014, Vignery returned to coach the running backs after spending the previous season as the team's inside wide receivers coach. Butler averaged 166 yards per game on the ground, led by second-team All-Jayhawk Conference selection Chris Carson (994 yards, nine rushing TDs). Backup JaMon Cotton was also named honorable mention.

Vignery's stable of running backs were impressive in 2012 as the Grizzlies led the conference in rushing with 223 yards per game. First-team All-Jayhawk Conference selection Dreamius Smith had four games with more than 100 yards rushing and scored 17 touchdowns on the season. Derrick Thomas had four 100-yard rushing games with nine touchdowns and was honorable mention conference honors.

Vignery spent the 2011 season coaching at Kansas Wesleyan. He coached two All-KCAC selections, including first-teamer Carl Caldwell, a sophomore receiver who led the Coyotes with 35 receptions for 486 yards and four touchdowns.

Prior to that, Vignery spent as a season as assistant wide receivers coach at Butler, helping his alma mater win Jayhawk Conference and Region VI championships. He helped tutor a talented group of receivers that included 2 (Texas Tech), Brett Soft (Central Arkansas) and Darrell Freeman (Arkansas Tech).

A native of Concordia, Vignery played receiver at Butler in 2006 and 2007. The Grizzlies went 23-1 with two conference titles and two Region VI titles, as well as winning the 2007 national championship. He finished his playing career at Kansas State (2008-09) and graduated in December 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Social Science.

He is the son of Kenneth and Cindy Vignery. He has two brothers, Brent and Blake, and a twin sister, Blair, a former Butler track and field standout.

Vignery is married to the former Hannah Kueny. They have two sons, Cooper and Hudson.
