Bryce Torneden joined the Kansas football staff in 2025 and now serves as a defensive analyst, working with the Kansas secondary.Â
Torneden, a Lawrence native, was a captain for Kansas football in 2019 and was a member of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Semifinalist, among other off-field achievements, while playing in 46 career games, totaling 232 tackles, 15.0 tackles-for-loss and an interception over his career as a Jayhawk from 2016-19.
After graduating from the University of Kansas, Torneden played several seasons in the USFL with the Pittsburgh Maulers and the Michigan Panthers. In 2022, Torneden was an All-USFL selection with Pittsburgh, totaling 70 tackles and an interception.
In 2023, Torneden made 10 starts for Pittsburgh recording 48 tackles. Torneden then went on to start for the Michigan Panthers during the 2024 season and was second on the team in tackles with 42 total tackles, including two sacks, and also had two pass breakups. Torneden and the Panthers advanced to the USFL Championship Game during the 2024 season, falling to the Birmingham Stallions.
