Cassie joined the Kansas Athletics HR team in August 2025. In her role, she partners with leaders and staff across Kansas Athletics on employee relations, talent acquisition and development, performance management, and organizational change.
At her core, Cassie Gilmore is a connector. A SHRM-SCP certified human resources professional with nearly two decades of HR experience across multiple industries, Cassie has made a career out of building relationships, navigating challenges with empathy, and finding creative ways to put people first. Her approach to HR blends strategic thinking with a people-first perspective, helping leaders navigate complex challenges, finding creative solutions, and building an environment where employees can do their best work.
A proud Jayhawk, Cassie earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in dispute resolution from Baker University. Her Jayhawk connection is now a family affair, as her daughter, Hannah, is a student at KU. For Cassie, working at Kansas Athletics is a special opportunity to combine two things she cares deeply about: helping people and supporting the Jayhawks.
Outside of the office, Cassie enjoys traveling and is deeply committed to community service. She serves on the Executive Board of Directors for both Van Go, Inc. and the Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade. In 2023, she was crowned Queen of the Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade in recognition of her fundraising efforts benefiting Lawrence and Douglas County children’s charities.
