Â
Dr. Tyler uses an integrated approach to therapy, infusing multicultural, interpersonal, acceptance and commitment, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and emotion-focused interventions into her work. Her approach to therapy is collaborative between the therapist and athlete, where each brings their respective expertise to work together to achieve the athlete’s goals. She always keeps in mind the multicultural aspects and identities that are important to her clients and centers identity and psychosocial factors into her work. She seeks to create an affirming, safe, and open environment for the athlete to explore their concerns and find ways to cope and enhance their personal strengths.
Â
Outside of cheering on the Jayhawks, she enjoys spending time with her Australian Cattle Dog (Curtis), spending time with friends and family, traveling, attending stand-up comedy shows, and going to concerts and sporting events.
