With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality and travel industry, JoEllen brings a deep well of knowledge and a hands-on approach to her role as a Team Travel Consultant at Short’s Travel Management. Prior to joining Short’s, she served as an Account Manager at Anthony Travel, where she managed all facets of team and individual travel—including air, hotel, bus, and car arrangements—for collegiate athletic programs, most recently supporting Texas Tech. Her background also includes supporting various universities during transitional periods in on-site roles, showcasing her flexibility and team-first mindset. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions with Holiday Inn Express as Director of Sales and with Entourage Management as an Account Manager for group tour planning, where she fine-tuned her itinerary design and client service skills.

Based in Florida, she lives with her husband Tom, three beloved black labs (Ally, Layla, and Ollie), and three cats. She’s a proud mom to three grown children—Austin, Madison, and Emily—plus a daughter-in-law, Delaney, and a soon-to-be son-in-law, Jaxon. Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors and has a passion for hiking, fishing, hunting, and gardening. She also spends time creating her own herbal remedies and beauty products.
