Giroir joined Kansas Team Health as an athletic trainer in August 2025. He works with the KU track & field program, where he supports student-athletes through injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance care. Giroir came to KU after completing a Sports Physical Therapy Fellowship at Northwestern University, working with Big Ten athletes across football, basketball and baseball, and a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where he also provided sideline coverage for NCAA Division I athletics at Iona University.
Giroir earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, and his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. Along the way, Giroir has worked in a variety of sports medicine and performance settings, including Next Level Sports Performance in Colorado and Athletes’ Training Center in Nebraska, and has provided event coverage ranging from the Colorado Eagles (AHL) to the New York City Marathon.
A former college football and track athlete, Giroir understands the demands of high-level sport and brings that perspective to his work with the Jayhawks. Originally from Colorado, Giroir enjoys being outdoors, playing in rec league sports, and spending time in the mountains with his dog, Tucker.
