LAWRENCE, Kan. – ESPNU will pick up Kansas volleyball’s lone remaining home Big 12 Conference match when the Jayhawks play host to Baylor, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m.

Nine home matches are already on the television broadcast schedule, including seven of KU’s eight league contests, thanks to the agreement between Kansas Athletics and Time Warner Cable Metro Sports. When ESPNU and the Big 12 released its telecast schedule on Monday, it revealed that KU’s only conference home match not yet on TV will now be part of a primetime Big 12 doubleheader with Baylor visiting Kansas at 6 p.m., and Iowa State at Texas Tech facing off at 8 p.m.

With 14 home matches on the schedule this season, 10 of them will be televised across the state through TWC Metro Sports or nationally – as in Monday’s announcement of the ESPNU broadcast. Additionally, all 14 contests will be available on ESPN3.

TWC Metro Sports is a 24/7 sports network based in Kansas City, but the extended coverage is not limited to regional fans. Earlier this summer, Kansas Athletics added to the TWC Metro Sports deal by agreeing to a seven-year pact with ESPN, beginning with the 2013-14 academic year, under which ESPN3 annually will carry a minimum of 70 live events distributed nationally. KU’s four-remaining home matches not being carried by another television provider will be available to fans as part of that ESPN3-only package.

Kansas’ matches against Arkansas (9/7), North Dakota State (9/20), Georgia (9/20) and the Italy U-23 National Team (9/25, exh.) will all be available to fans exclusively on ESPN3.

The Jayhawks report to campus on Aug. 9 with preseason camp beginning Aug. 10. Kansas opens the season against Central Arkansas on Aug. 30.
