FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Kansas swimming and diving earned their first road victory of the season over Colorado State 214-84 Saturday, Oct. 26, inside Moby Pool. KU claimed first place in all 16 events in the meet.

The Jayhawks swimmers were led by sophomore Kate Steward and senior Jenny Nusbaum on the afternoon. Steward finished with a team-best three individual first-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.27), 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.93) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.53), giving her a team-high 27 points earned. Nusbaum was not far behind Steward as she finished with two first-place finishes on the day in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.28) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.22).

Freshman Jiayu Chen was the Jayhawks leader on the boards on Saturday, claiming gold in both the 1-meter and the 3-meter. She finished with a total score of 291.86 on the 1-meter and a 308.70 total score on the 3-meter.

"This is a really solid meet for us. We got started off really fast with our season-best time in the 200-yard medley relay and then just kept the momentum going. It was a long day but a very good day. We performed very well from top to bottom. It was a really good day and I know we will come out of this with a lot of confidence."

Key Race Results

Crissie Blomquist claimed first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:34.63.
Jenny Nusbaum won the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.28) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.22) for her two individual golds of the meet.
Manon Manning touched the wall first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.44.
Kate Steward finished in first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.27), 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.93) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.53).
Amelie Lessing won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:06.27.
Carly Straight swam her way to a 24.37 50-yard freestyle time and a first-place finish.
Elizabeth Amato-Hanner came in first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:02.13.
Claire Campbell touched first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:06.77.
Greta Olsen claimed gold in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.58.
