LAWRENCE, Kan. - No. 12 Kansas Volleyball is back at home for a pair of ranked matches this week, as they will take on No. 18 TCU on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:30 p.m. and No. 17 Baylor on Saturday, November 16 at noon.Â
"We're looking forward to a really good week of volleyball against a couple teams that have had great success up to this point," said Kansas Head Coach Ray Bechard. "Both are locks for the NCAA tournament where they have a chance to make some noise."
Kansas comes into Wednesday's matchup ranked No. 12 in the country, after dropping two straight contests for the first time since October 5-6 of 2023. The Jayhawks possess a 20-3 overall record with an 11-2 mark in conference play while still remaining undefeated in their Big 12 home schedule at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.Â
TCU comes into the midweek match ranked 18th in the country as well as being on a three-game win streak plus winning six of their last seven. The Horned Frogs are 17-5 on the season, and 9-3 in conference play with an impressive 12-1 record at home. TCU has split their conference road games so far this season, with three wins and three losses.Â
Kansas and TCU have met 23 times on the volleyball court, with the Jayhawks taking 19 of those matches. Kansas has never lost to the Horned Frogs at home, with a perfect 11-0 record. Kansas has also won six of the last seven matches against TCU, dating back to the 2020 season.Â
Baylor is ranked No. 17 in this week's AVCA poll, with their most recent match resulting in a 3-0 sweep of UCF on Nov. 9. Overall, the Bears are 17-5 on the year, and have spent the majority of the season in the AVCA Top 20 portion of the poll.Â
The history between these two teams is extensive, having played each other 57 times thus far, with the Jayhawks winning 26 of those matches. Most recently, Kansas swept Baylor on Nov. 15, 2023. That win snapped a five-match losing streak that dated back to 2020.Â
