
Jayhawks in Seventh After 36 Holes at American Dunes Golf Club

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The Kansas women's golf team shot a 302 (+14) in the second round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate on Tuesday, currently in seventh place at +30 with 18 holes left to play.
Florida State leads the pack at +9, followed by Arizona (+10), Ohio State (+11), Texas (+15) and Baylor (+16) to round out the top five.
"We're a great ball striking team and that is the key on this course," said KU head coach Lindsay Kuhle. "As the tournament goes on we're getting better touch and feel around the greens, and with more experience we have a comfortable feeling on the course."Â
Senior Johanna Ebner led the way for the Jayhawks in the second round, posting a two-over 74. Ebner was able to card eight-straight pars today, adding a birdie on the sixth hole. Ebner jumped four spots on the leaderboard and sits T13 at +4 for the event.Â
Senior Jordan Rothman also posted a two-over 74 and climbed 14 spots in the individual standings. Rothman carded three birdies on the day and sits T57 at +14. Â
Senior Lily Hirt and junior Amy DeKock both shot rounds of 77 (+5) on Tuesday, sharing a tie for 29th place heading into the final round. Hirst carded a bogey-free front nine, while DeKock was able to card three birdies on the round.  Â
Senior Lauren Clark also shot a 77 and sits T53 at +13.
"It was another solid round from the Jayhawks and Johanna today," Kuhle added. "Jordan stepped up as well today to shoot 74, and both were very solid and consistent from the start."Â Â

The third and final round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate will continue Wednesday, Sept. 11. The Jayhawks will tee off at 7:18 a.m. CT on hole 10 and will be playing with North Carolina and San Jose State. The final round will be televised live on the Golf Channel from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Live scoring for the event will be available through Scoreboard, while fans can keep up with live updates from the official Kansas Women's Golf X account.Â
