LAWRENCE, KAN. - Kansas Volleyball will kick off their 2024 home schedule with the Wichita State Shockers on Wednesday evening from inside Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena where first serve is set for 6:30 p.m.
"We are excited for our home opener against a very quality Wichita State team," said Kansas Head Coach Ray Bechard. "They are talented and experienced and will present a terrific challenge."
Kansas comes into Wednesday's home opener winners of their first three matches of the season, traveling to the Duke Tournament in Durham, N.C., recording three victories, and only losing one set in that process.Â
Wichita State enters the match with a 2-1 record, after beating Kennesaw State twice at the KSU Convocation Center last weekend. The Shockers also dropped a five-set match at the hands of the Indiana Hoosiers last Saturday.Â
Kansas has a 33-9 mark against the Shockers all time, and the Jayhawks have taken 12 of the last 13 matches against Wichita State, including a six-match win streak. Kansas will be looking to defend their home court, as the team had a 14-2 record at home last season, and a 24-4 home record against the Shockers all time.Â
Wednesday's opener is sold out, however, the game can be streamed on ESPN+ with Jill Dorsey-Hall and Leif Lisec on the call. There will also be a live stats broadcast, which can be found
