MILWAUKEE, Wis. -Â Kansas Volleyball is set to take to the road for the second straight weekend, this time to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to participate in the Marquette Tournament Friday and Saturday.Â
Kansas comes into the tournament winners of their first four matches of the season, sweeping three of those four matches. Kansas is no stranger to playing matches on the road so far this season, as three of the team's four wins came on the road last weekend at the Duke Tournament.
The Jayhawks will take on the host of this weekend's tournament, No. 24 Marquette. Entering Friday night, the Golden Eagles have a 1-1 record as they swept Eastern Illinois, and then fell at the hands of No. 5 Stanford Wednesday night. The Golden Eagles finished with a 16-2 record in Big East play last year, and look to be an NCAA tournament-bound team once again in 2024. First serve for Friday's ranked match up is set for 6 p.m. inside the Al McGuire Center.
Kansas will face the Western Michigan Broncos out of the MAC Conference on Saturday afternoon. The Broncos enter this tournament with a 2-1 record on the young season, after defeating both Loyola Chicago and Loyola Marymount by a 3-1 score. The Broncos were crowned MAC conference champions in 2023 and went on to sweep Auburn in the NCAA tournament before falling to then No. 2 Louisville in the second round.Â
