Caroline Castans was named to the 2025 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List, United Soccer Coaches announced Tuesday.

The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club and is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by voting of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches. Castans was named to the preseason Hermann Trophy Watchlist on Aug. 14.
Castans is currently tied for fourth in the Big 12 with six assists this season, which leads the Jayhawks. She is also ranks third on the team with 10 points. Castans was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and earned a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal in KU's 1-0 win at Oklahoma State on Sept. 18.Â
The 2025 midseason watch list was compiled by members of the Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List Committee from a list of returning 2024 All-Americans and First Team All-Region players. A total of 15 players will be named 2025 Hermann Trophy semifinalists on December 2 at the conclusion of NCAA Division I All-American voting. This is the first year of the midseason watch list.
Kansas (8-3-2, 2-3-0 Big 12) will travel to Ames, Iowa, to match up against Iowa State on Friday, Oct. 10. The match is slated for 6 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
