LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas soccer junior defender
Caroline Castans was named to the 2025 Big 12 All-Tournament Team, the conference announced Monday.Â
Castans, a native of Flower Mound, Texas, finished the tournament with one assist, which came against West Virginia. She played 265 minutes out of a possible 270 minutes throughout the tournament and helped lead the defensive effort to allow only two goals in three games. Castans is second in the Big 12 and tied for ninth in the country with a career-high 11 assists this season. She also has two goals this year and is third on the team with 15 points. Castans has started every game for the Jayhawks and played 1,848 minutes, the third most among Kansas field players.
The Flower Mound, Texas, native was named Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year and an All-Big 12 First Team section for the second straight year on Nov. 4. Castans also earned a spot on the Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List on Oct. 7.
The Big 12 All-Tournament Team is composed of 11 student-athletes with four defenders, three midfielders, three forwards and one goalkeeper.Â
