LAWRENCE, Kan. – After a record-breaking season that was highlighted by a trip to the Sweet 16, Kansas Soccer announced its 2026 schedule on Friday. The schedule features eight contests at Rock Chalk Park and 11 Big 12 Conference games.
"We're excited about the challenges that await us in the 2026 season," said Lie, who recently agreed to a five-year contract extension through the 2030 season. "Last season was an important step forward for our program and showed what this team is capable of achieving."
The Jayhawks will play nine matches at Rock Chalk Park, including one exhibition match, and 11 games on the road. Kansas will open up the season on Aug. 12, hosting Utah State. The next four matches will be on the road, starting off on Aug. 16 at Missouri State. The Jayhawks will conclude non-conference play with a rematch of the 2024 NCAA Tournament First Round game at Saint Louis on Sept. 12.Â
Kansas will then begin conference play at Cincinnati on Sept. 18 and will conclude Big 12 play by hosting Texas Tech on Nov. 5.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, the top eight teams will qualify for the 2026 Big 12 Soccer Tournament, with the location to be announced at a later date. The quarterfinals will be on Nov. 9, the semifinals on Nov. 11 and the championship match will be held on Nov. 14.
The 2025 season was a historic one as Kansas finished with a 16-6-3 record and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament for just the third time in program history, while also ending the year No. 10 in RPI and ranked No. 13 in the final United Soccer Coaches poll. The Jayhawks set new single-season records in goals (51), corner kicks (172) and points (154). The 16 wins were also the fourth most in school history.
"After advancing to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament a year ago, our group understands the importance of approaching each match with focus and determination," Lie continued. "We look forward to embracing that challenge and competing against a strong schedule."
Kansas will be entering its 32nd season of women's soccer when the team begins the 2026 season.
