IOWA CITY, Iowa –The Jayhawks head to their midseason championship meet, the Hawkeye Invitational at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center in Iowa City, for the second straight year to compete against eight teams across four days. The meet begins Tuesday, Nov. 18th, at 6 p.m. CT and concludes Friday, Nov. 21st.
"Our midseason invite is always the highlight of the fall portion of the year," head coach Clark Campbell said. "We have positioned ourselves very well heading into the meet. The team is really excited seeing what we can do."
Tuesday, Nov. 18th, will feature finals in the 200-yard medley relay, a team diving event and the 800-yard freestyle relay beginning at 6 p.m. CT.
On Wednesday, Nov. 19th, preliminaries in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle relay begin at 10 a.m. CT, with the 1-meter diving preliminary following at 11:30 a.m. Finals for each event will take place at 5 p.m. CT.
Thursday, Nov. 20th, will include preliminaries for the 100-yard butterfly, 400-yard individual medley, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard backstroke beginning at 10 a.m. CT. The 3-meter diving preliminary is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Finals for the earlier events, plus the 400-yard medley relay, will begin at 5 p.m. CT.
The meet concludes on Friday, Nov. 21st, with preliminaries in the 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard butterfly at 10 a.m. CT. Finals for those events, plus the 400-yard freestyle relay and platform diving, will begin at 4 p.m. CT.
Teams competing against Kansas are Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Miami, Nebraska, Northern Iowa and Washington State.
