LAWRENCE, Kan. – Head coach
Brandon Schneider and the Kansas women's basketball staff signed three players during the early signing period, and the Jayhawks' recruiting Class of 2026 is ranked No. 20 nationally in
ESPNW's Top 25 class rankings.
KU's class features four-star forwards Cydnee Bryant and Brooklynn Renn alongside three-star guard Mollie Ernstes. Bryant is ranked the No. 33 prospect in the class, while Renn is No. 71 and Ernstes is ranked just outside the top 100 players nationally. The trio is ranked as the No. 20 class in country, giving Kansas its second-straight Top 20 team ranking and third Top 25 class in the past four seasons. Kansas has the highest-ranked recruiting class in the Big 12 and Bryant is the highest-rated recruit signed by a conference team in the early signing period.
Bryant is a 6-4 post player from Riverside, California, who is coming to Kansas to play both basketball and volleyball. She averaged 21.7 points and 16.8 rebounds per game, with 24 double-doubles in 25 games last season. As the No. 33 player in the Class of 2026, she becomes the third-highest prospect signed by Kansas in Schneider's tenure, trailing only
Jaliya Davis (No. 19) and
Keeley Parks (No. 31) from the Class of 2025.
Renn is a 6-3 forward from Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg, Indiana, where she entered her senior season with 1,030 career points scored. She is the No. 4-ranked prospect in the state of Indiana and rated as a top 100 prospect by both ESPNW (71) and 247Sports (72). Renn is the 11th ESPNW Top 100 prospect to sign with Kansas since Schneider became the head coach.
Ernstes is a 6-0 guard from North Vernon, Indiana, who plays at Jennings County High School. She's the No. 5-ranked prospect from the state of Indiana in the Class of 2026, and ranked as high as No. 84 nationally by 247Sports, but just outside the Top 100 by ESPNW.
The Class of 2026 becomes the fourth Top 25 class signed by Schneider and his staff at Kansas, according to ESPNW. The 2025 class of Davis, Parks,
Tatyonna Brown and
Libby Fandel is the program's highest ranked of the ESPNW recruiting era, which dates to 2007, coming in at No. 7. Kansas also landed the No. 18 class in 2015 and the No. 24 class in 2023, a group that included current Jayhawks
S'Mya Nichols and
Laia Conesa.
ESPNW Scouting Report on Kansas' Recruiting Class
Kansas and Brandon Schneider have pieced together an impressive complementary three-player class.
Bryant, a 6-3 dual-sport star who will also play volleyball, is a physical force with an emerging offensive game, including the ability to knock down 3s trailing the play or in the corner.
Renn is another 6-3 forward with length, agility and versatility. She has a knack for knowing when to spread the floor or post up smaller defenders, and she's a shot-blocking threat rotating on defense. Expect her to impact the glass on both ends as well.
Ernstes has a reputation as a knock down catch-and-shooter.
