LAWRENCE, Kan. – For the first time in three weeks, the Kansas Jayhawks are back in action at Allen Fieldhouse on Sunday, Dec. 14, to host the Denver Pioneers.

Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Dave Stewart (play-by-play) and
Wayne Simien (analyst) on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on the Jayhawk Radio Network from Learfield, with Steven Davis and David Lawrence calling the action.

Kansas has opened the month of December 2-0 with come-from-behind road wins at Northwestern and Missouri State. The Jayhawks overcame a 10-point first half deficit to win 74-62 at Northwestern on Dec. 3, before coming back from 13 points down to force overtime and defeat Missouri State 73-70 on Dec. 7.Â

The Jayhawks are now 8-2 on the year. After opening the year 6-0, Kansas suffered its two defeats at the Fort Myers Tip-Off, falling by a combined seven points against Georgia and Dayton on consecutive days.

KU is 5-0 at home this season and the Jayhawks have won 38-consecutive non-conference games at Allen Fieldhouse, dating back to December 2020. Four of KU's five home wins have been by more than 10 points, including an 86-75 win over Oral Roberts in the last home outing on Nov. 23.

Junior guard
S'Mya Nichols leads the Jayhawks with 19.9 points per game, and she's been named to the Big 12 Starting Five in each of the past two weeks. She topped the 20-point mark for the sixth time this season with 24 points in KU's overtime win at Missouri State on Dec. 7. During the MSU game, Nichols climbed two spots on KU's all-time scoring list, moving into the top 20 in school history with 1,264 career points. She was 13-of-16 from the free throw line at MSU, marking the third time this season with 10 or more made free throws in a game. Nichols is now ranked second nationally in free throws made (77) and leads the country in attempts (92).

Senior forward
Lilly Meister and freshman guard
Keeley Parks both scored 11 points in the win at Missouri State. For Meister, it was her third game this season scoring in double figures and she's now KU's No. 5 leading scorer at 8.4 points per game. Parks matched her career-high with 11 points after hitting 3-of-4 three-point attempts in the win. She has hit at least one three-pointer in six-straight games.

Senior guard
Elle Evans has made at least one three-pointer in every game this season, with seven games of hitting three or more. Evans leads the Big 12 and ranks No. 5 nationally, shooting 52.7% (29-55) from three this season and she's 19th among active Division I players with 208 career 3FG made.

Freshman forward
Jaliya Davis has been limited to three games played this season due to injuries. The former McDonald's All-American averaged 17.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in those contests and was named to the Big 12 Starting Five on Nov. 10 after scoring a career-high 28 points in KU's 75-60 victory over Northwestern State on Nov. 9.

Denver comes to Lawrence with a record of 4-6 following a 92-68 win over Metro State on Dec. 9. Sunday's matchup will be the fourth all-time meeting between Kansas and Denver, the first since 2004. KU leads the series 2-1, with a 1-0 lead in games played at Allen Fieldhouse.

Sunday's game will be Junior Jayhawks Kids Game: Holiday Edition. Prior to the game, Santa will be in the fan zone and fans can write letters to Santa, get faces painted and take photos with Big Jay and Baby Jay before tipoff. Following the game, fans are also encouraged to stick around and meet members of the team as they sign autographs.
