LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas baseball brings their undefeated record to Hoglund Ballpark this week as the Jayhawks will begin their 27-game home schedule on Thursday afternoon. Saturday's game will be a neutral site contest played at Equity Bank Park in Wichita, Kansas, due to men's basketball playing on Saturday afternoon at Allen Fieldhouse.
Â
"We're excited to be back home and looking forward to playing in front of our fans," head coach
Dan Fitzgerald said. "We did a lot of things well on the road trip but still have a long way to go. Our guys will be ready to go."
Â
Kansas has started the season 7-0 for the first time since 2014. The Jayhawks are one of 13 Division I baseball teams still undefeated. Kansas completed a four-game series sweep against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and a three-game series sweep at Tarleton State on the season-opening seven-game road trip.
Â
Through the first two weeks of the season, Kansas has put itself in the top five of the Big 12 in several statistical categories as a team. The Jayhawks rank first in the Big 12 with 9.7 runs per game, second in double plays turned with seven, third with a .512 slugging percentage, fourth in batting average (.313), hits (78), home runs (11), on-base percentage (.416) and WHIP (1.18) and fifth in ERA at 2.90.
Â
Omaha (2-5) played its first seven games in the state of Louisiana. The Mavericks started with a three-game series at Tulane before a midweek contest at Nicholls and wrapped it up with a three-game series at LSU. Omaha earned a 5-4 victory at No. 3 LSU on Saturday. Ben Weber, Luke Gainer, and Oliver Mabee combined for 7.2 hitless innings against one of the country's top offenses in the win.

HOGLUND BALLPARK UPGRADES
In 2025, fans will witness a couple significant changes at Hoglund Ballpark. Kansas replaced the turf playing surface and installed a new video board and audio system. The turf was installed by Mammoth Sports Construction and features a fresh look from the old surface that was installed in 2011. The new video board by Daktronics is double the size of the old video board and will enhance the overall clarity for fans. The old board was installed in 2007.

NEWCOMER OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION
Sophomore infielder
Brady Ballinger and junior infielder
Dariel Osoria have both gotten off to a strong start in their Division I careers by hitting safely in all seven games this season. Ballinger, a transfer from College of Southern Nevada, has started at first base in every game and leads the team in batting average (.440), slugging percentage (.840), on-base percentage (.588) and runs scored (10). Osoria, a Western Oklahoma State College transfer, has been the designated hitter every game and leads the team in hits (12) and RBI (12). His 12 RBIs are tied for the most in the Big 12.
