
Jung Takes 9th as Kansas Wraps Up NCAA Indoor Nationals

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Kansas Track and Field completed their indoor season Saturday afternoon at the conclusion of the NCAA Indoor National Championships inside the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Alexander Jung competed in the final three events of the Men's Heptathlon, finishing the event in ninth place.
Jung's first event Saturday morning was the 60-meter hurdles, where he clocked a time of 8.227 seconds, to take 11th in the event and grab 925 points. Jung then competed in the Heptathlon Pole Vault event, where he cleared the 4.77-meter bar to take eighth and earn another 840 points.
The final event of the Heptathlon was the 1,000-meter run, where Jung took third place by running a time of 2:41:47. Jung earned 857 points in the final event.
Jung finished the event with 5,752 points, which is good for second-best in school history. Jung finished just 45 points off of his own school record, as well as just 47 points away from the NCAA Indoor Nationals Podium.
