
Kansas to Open Outdoor Season in Jayhawk Spring Fling

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Track and Field is set to open the 2025 outdoor season at home in the Jayhawk Spring Fling, which will be held at Rock Chalk Park on Saturday afternoon.
Kansas will be competing against Pittsburg State, Kansas City, and Baker. Field events begin at 11 am on Saturday, with track events to follow, starting at 1 pm. The Spring Fling will be a condensed meet, with just 13 events taking place.
The Jayhawks will look to build off of last year's outdoor season where they 11 athletes to the Division 1 Outdoor National Championships in Eugene in 2024.
Kansas will look to be led by pole vaulters Mason Meinershagen, Erica Ellis, Clayton Simms, and Alexander Jung. The group of four just wrapped up their indoor season at the NCAA Indoor National Championships where Meinershagen took fourth in the women's pole vault, and Jung took 9th in the Men's Heptathlon.
The Jayhawk Spring Fling will mark the first of four events that the Jayhawks will host this year in the outdoor season. Kansas will host the Rock Chalk Classic, Kansas Relays, and the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in 2025.
