LAWRENCE, Kan. - Four Kansas track & field pole vaulters are set to compete in the Crimson and Gold Invitational at Pittsburg State University's
Harvey Dean Track in Pittsburg, Kansas on Saturday. The women's pole vault is set to begin at 1 p.m. CT while the men's is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.
"It's going to be great to get away from home, go on the road and really compete in an unfamiliar environment." Kansas vertical jumps coach Tom Hays said. "We are really excited to use this as an opportunity to prepare ourselves for the spring season and it's just another chance for us to compete against ourselves and gauge where we are at."
Kansas is planning on sending four of its pole vaulters that recently competed in the intrasquad meet on Wednesday. Mason Meinershagen and Madi Snody are set to compete for the women while Ashton Barkdull and Anthony Meacham are scheduled for the men.
The Jayhawks will compete alongside a handful of other schools in the region, including Pittsburg State, Washburn, Angelo State, Ouachita Baptist, Southern Nazarene, Missouri Southern State and Texas A&M Kingsville.
