LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas begins a season-long six-game homestand on Tuesday with a two-game midweek series against St. Thomas at Hoglund Ballpark. The Jayhawks are in the midst of a stretch of eight games in 10 days.
Kansas (18-6) dropped its first series of the season at Arizona State over the weekend. Arizona State took the first game before Kansas evened the series on Saturday. Sunday's game was back and forth with each team having three leads in the game. Kansas took the lead for a third time on a two-out, two-run homer by
Tommy Barth in the ninth inning. The Sun Devils hit their own two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to win the game and series.

The Jayhawks lead the Big 12 and are tied for sixth in the nation with 49 home runs this season. Kansas is 16-2 when hitting a home run this season and has hit multiple home runs in 13 games this year.
Jackson Hauge leads the Big 12 with 11 homers, which is also tied for seventh nationally.

KU also leads the conference with 162 walks (seventh nationally), 9.3 runs per game (14th nationally), 222 runs scored (11th nationally) and a .550 slugging percentage (12th nationally).

St. Thomas (11-8) has won five of its last seven games, including a series win against South Dakota State this past weekend. The Tommies, who were picked to finish second in the Summit League, are leading the conference with a .336 batting average as a team this season. Tanner Recchio leads the way offensively for St. Thomas, hitting .395 with 32 hits and 26 runs scored.

Junior
Kannon Carr transferred from Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri, to KU this season. Carr made his second career Division I start on Saturday night at Arizona State. The righty tossed a career-high seven innings and allowed three runs on five hits, while walking one and striking out five. He did not allow a run in six of his seven innings of work. The win improved Carr to 4-0 this season.

Carr is third in the Big 12 in opponent batting average (.181) and WHIP (1.00), tied for third in wins (4) and seventh in ERA (2.62).
