IOWA CITY, Iowa – Kansas divers
Shiyun Lai and
Lize van Leeuwen are set to compete at the 2025 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships from March 10-12 at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center in Iowa City, Iowa.Â
The three-day event begins on Monday, March 10 at 12:00 p.m. CT, and action will be streaming
here. The format will consist of preliminaries in the morning, followed by finals shortly after.Â
Lai, a five-time Big 12 Diver of the Week this season, recently captured a gold medal in the one-meter event at the 2025 Big 12 Championships.Â
Leeuwen is set for her third-consecutive NCAA Zone Diving appearance after securing a ninth-place finish in the one-meter diving event at Big 12s, winning the consolation final in the process.Â
Lai and Leeuwen will both compete in the one-meter and three-meter diving events.Â
The top five female and top four male divers from each event at the five respective zone diving championships will be eligible to compete at the NCAA championships. Additional place finishers in each event at each zone will be eligible based on the number of student-athletes from that zone who finished in the top 16 in that event at the previous year's contested or completed NCAA championships. All eligible divers must have achieved the zone qualifying score prior to the NCAA championships in all events in which they wish to participate.Â
Last season, Lai qualified for both the one-meter and three-meter diving events, helping Kansas secure a 32nd-place finish at the 2024 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.Â
