
Kansas To Compete in Arkansas Spring Invite Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Kansas Track and Field is set to compete in the Arkansas Spring Invite on Saturday, April 12, with action starting at 11:15 a.m. Central from John McDonnell Field.Â
"We are excited for a competitive meet this weekend. We will have great weather and the athletes are fired up and ready to go," Kansas Head Coach Stanley Redwine said.
The Jayhawks are traveling 13 men and 13 women to Fayetteville this weekend, headlined by sophomore Sidney Smith, who won the 400-meter hurdles event last weekend in her home state of Oklahoma.Â
TJ Robinson will also be competing at the meet this weekend. Robinson is coming off of a top five appearance in his first outdoor meet of the season, placing fifth in the 800 at the Battle on the Bayou. Robinson currently ranks second in the Big 12 for the event.Â
Aaliyah Moore has been another Jayhawk that has been performing at a high level in the 800, as she ranks third in the Big 12 for the event. Moore took second in her only outdoor appearance this year at the Battle on the Bayou, running a time of 2:04.93.
Grant Lockwood is among the Jayhawks traveling to Arkansas for Saturday's meet. Lockwood ranks fourth in the Big 12 in the 800, where he ran a time of 1:49.56 at the Battle on the Bayou in Baton Rouge.Â
