LAWRENCE, KAN. -Â The Kansas Track & Field Team will continue their outdoor season this weekend as they host the Rock Chalk Classic on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at Rock Chalk Park.Â
The meet will be kicked off with field events starting with the Men's Javelin at 9:30 AM CT, then running events starting at 11:55 AM CT with the Women's 4x100m Relay. Kansas will also be recognizing the 2025 senior class at 2:30 PM CT during the meet.Â
The Jayhawks are coming off a successful Kansas Relays, taking first in 15 events. Kansas would end up sweeping both sides of the 4x800m relay and the distance medley relay. The Jayhawks also swept the men's and women's side of the 3000-meter steeplechase at the 102nd running of the Kansas Relays.Â
Sophomore
Sidney Smith has won the Women's 400m Hurdles in three straight meets. The Tulsa native has taken home first place in four of her five starts in the event this year. She will be competing as a part of the Women's 4x400m relay team for Kansas this weekend.Â
Junior
Tayton Klein won the Men's Long Jump at the Kansas Relays last weekend with his best jump of the season so far at 7.40m(24-3.5 ft.). Klein will compete again this weekend, this go around in the long jump and the high jump. Klein will also be a member of the men's 4x400m relay team in the Rock Chalk Classic.Â
The Jayhawks will also look to defend their pole vault crowns, as
Clayton Simms won the Rock Chalk Classic Men's Pole Vault event last season, and
Erica Ellis is coming into the meet with some momentum, as she won the Women's Pole Vault while setting a new personal record at the Kansas Relays last weekend.Â
