LAWRENCE, Kan. – No. 23 Kansas baseball is set for the fourth annual Buck O'Neil Classic on Tuesday night against Missouri. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT at Hoglund Ballpark and fans can purchase tickets by clicking
here. Tuesday will begin a stretch with seven of the next eight games at home.
Kansas has won eight consecutive games and boasts an overall record of 35-10 this season and a 15-6 mark in conference play. The 35 wins are the most in a season for Kansas since 2014 and the 15 wins in Big 12 games are tied for the most in program history (2009, 2014, 2024). The Jayhawks have three winning streaks of at least eight games this season.
KU recorded its seventh series sweep of the season and fourth in Big 12 play this past weekend at Utah. The four Big 12 series sweeps are the most for Kansas in program history. The seven series sweeps this season have come at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, at Tarleton State, vs. Milwaukee, vs. Oklahoma State, at UCF, vs. Kansas State and at Utah.
The Jayhawks returned to all the top 25 polls this week. Kansas is ranked No. 23 in the NCBWA poll, No. 24 by Baseball America and No. 25 by D1Baseball and USA Today.
Missouri (13-30) enters the week having dropped its last seven games and winless in SEC play this season. The Tigers last win came on April 15 against Missouri State. This year, Missouri is batting .268 as a team and has a 9.67 team ERA. Jackson Lovich leads the way offensively for the Tigers with a .345 batting average and eight home runs.

DOM HONORED
Dominic Voegele has been named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced on Monday.
Voegele tossed a career-high 8.2 innings and did not allow a run or walk. He had five strikeouts in his outing and retired 12 consecutive batters from the final out of the fifth inning all the way through the first two outs of the ninth inning.
Currently, Voegele is third in the Big 12 with 66.2 innings pitched, tied for fifth in the conference with six wins and is ninth in the league with 60 strikeouts.
SERIES HISTORY
Kansas and Missouri have a rivalry that dates back to 1894. The series favors Missouri 204-138-2. Kansas won the most recent meeting by a score of 4-3 in 10 innings on March 19, 2024.
