Kansas Rolls to 4-2 Victory Over Iowa State Saturday

AMES, Iowa - Kansas women's tennis pulled off a 4-2 win over Iowa State inside the Iowa State Tennis Facility in Ames, Iowa on Saturday afternoon.

The win moved No. 45 Kansas to 12-9 on the season and 6-5 in the Big 12, while No. 57 Iowa State fell to 10-9 this season and 4-7 in Big 12 play.

The Jayhawks started the match off strong by winning the doubles point over the Cyclones. On court three, the Jayhawk pair of Anna Putilina and Kyoka Kubo defeated Iowa State's Valeska San Martin and Suzanie Pretorius 6-2. On court two, Kansas' Jasmine Adams and Yerkezhan Arystanbekova moved to 6-3 on the season by defeating the Cyclones' Julia Camblor and Mari Paz Alberto Vilar in a tight 7-6 (3) match.

Iowa State won one doubles match on court one, as Anna Supapitch Kuearum and Cristina Ramos Sierra defeated #30 Gracie Mulville and Heike Janse van Vuuren 6-2.

In singles action, Kansas picked up three wins to clinch the match against Iowa State. Court one finished first, as No. 106 ranked Mulville moved to 12-6 this season with her win over No. 109 Supapitch Kuearum in two sets, 6-1, 6-3.

Kansas picked up another win on court three, as Kubo defeated Alberto Vilar in three sets, 4-6, 6-0, 6-0. The Jayhawks clinched the match on court four, as van Vuuren won against Ramos Sierra in a close 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (2) match.

Iowa State picked up two singles wins on courts two and six, as Camblor defeated Maria Titova 6-4, 6-3, and San Martin defeated Meriem Ben Ezzedine 6-2, 6-2.

The match on court five went unfinished, as Arystanbekova battled against Pretorius in a tight 6-4, 3-6, 1-2 match.
