Kansas (36-10, 15-6 Big 12) has won nine consecutive games entering the weekend and is in second place in the Big 12 standings. The 36 wins are the most in a season for Kansas since 2009 and the most under Fitzgerald, while the 15 wins in Big 12 games are tied for the most in program history. Through 46 games, Kansas has its best record in program history.

The Jayhawks recorded their seventh series sweep of the season and fourth in Big 12 play this past weekend at Utah. The four Big 12 series sweeps are the most in program history.

KU is currently leading the Big 12 in several offensive categories, including walks (fourth nationally), home runs (tied for eighth nationally), shutouts (tied for ninth nationally), on-base percentage and total bases. Kansas also ranks 16th nationally in runs scored, 17th in the country in slugging percentage, tied for 17th in the nation in hits and 25th nationally in runs per game.

Cincinnati (24-20, 10-11 Big 12) heads to Lawrence to start an 11-day road trip having won three of its last four games, which includes a series win against Oklahoma State. The Bearcats are currently in a tie for seventh place in the Big 12 standings. Cincinnati leads the nation in bunt hits and is at the top of the Big 12 in stolen bases. Kerrington Cross leads the Cincinnati lineup with a .399 batting average. The Bearcats have posted a 5.04 ERA as a pitching staff this season.

DOM HONORED
Dominic Voegele has been named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced on Monday.
Â
Voegele tossed a career-high 8.2 innings and did not allow a run or walk. He had five strikeouts in his outing and retired 12 consecutive batters from the final out of the fifth inning all the way through the first two outs of the ninth inning.

Currently, Voegele is third in the Big 12 with 66.2 innings pitched, tied for fifth in the conference with six wins and is ninth in the league with 60 strikeouts.

SERIES HISTORY
Kansas and Cincinnati have played only six times, with all of the meetings happening in Cincinnati. The Bearcats hold a 5-1 advantage in the all-time series. Cincinnati swept the three-game set from the Jayhawks in 2018 and won two out of three games in 2024. The lone Kansas win came on March 15, 2024 in a 14-4 victory where
Jake English tied the program record of five walks, while
Chase Diggins and
Kodey Shojinaga both had four hits and four RBIs.
