Â
Kansas (39-14, 17-10 Big 12) has the most wins in a regular season in school history. The Jayhawks secured their 39th win in a 7-6 walk-off victory on Saturday against BYU. The win was also the 17th in conference play, which is tied for the most in program history. KU had 17 conference victories in 1993 and 1994 as a member of the Big Eight Conference. It is the most Big 12 wins in program history.
Â
Sunday's 7-6 walk-off win against BYU was meaningful historically in other ways too. The win clinched the sixth Big 12 series win for Kansas this season, marking the most in program history. The walk-off was also the fifth of the season and the 24th come from behind victory that Kansas has had this year.
Â
KU has hit a home run in each of its last 11 games and in 28 of the last 31 contests. Kansas leads the Big 12 and is 10th in the nation with 93 home runs this season. The Jayhawks broke the single-season home run record over a month ago on April 13 at TCU.
Â
West Virginia (40-10, 19-6 Big 12) is ranked No. 14 by Baseball America this week. The Mountaineers are in first place in the Big 12 and are one win or one Arizona State loss away from clinching the Big 12 regular season title. West Virginia is hitting .305 as a team and has six players with a batting average over .300. The Mountaineers lead the Big 12 with the lowest ERA at 4.04 this season.
