Aaliyah Moore Wins 800m at Guyana Senior National Championships

Leonora, Guyana - Kansas Track & Field Team athlete Aaliyah Moore won the Women's 800m at the Guyana Senior National Track & Field Championships.

"The race was good, it definitely feels great to come home and not only win but to walk away with a season's best. There's still a lot of work to do, and I'm excited for the remainder of the season. This victory means a lot because it shows that I am consistent, and with consistency, it can only get better," Said Aaliyah Moore.

Moore, while winning the race, ran a new season's Best time of 2:02.69, breaking her previous season's Best of 2:02.87.

Aaliyah qualified for NCAA Nationals in Eugene this season for the Women's 800m and finished the season as a Second Team All-American.

So far in her Kansas career, Moore has been the 2023 Big 12 800m Indoor Champion and has qualified for NCAA Nationals in 2024, where she was named Honorable Mention All-American in the Women's 800m.

Aaliyah will return to run for Kansas for her final year of eligibility.
