LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawks return to Allen Fieldhouse on Wednesday, Jan. 14, for a conference matchup against Oklahoma State.
Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Josh Klingler (play-by-play) and Brenda VanLengen (analyst) on the call. Fans can also listen on the Jayhawk Radio Network from Learfield, with Steven Davis and David Lawrence calling the action.
Kansas enters the contest with a record of 11-6 (1-4 Big 12) following a 79-64 defeat at No. 16 Baylor on Sunday. KU has now dropped two straight games since its first conference win, an 83-68 victory at UCF on Jan. 4.
Jayhawk forward
Jaliya Davis was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week on Monday, becoming the first player in the conference to earn consecutive weekly awards. Davis has now scored at least 20 points in four straight games and she's the Big 12's No. 3 leading scorer in league play with 22.0 points per game.
Davis has scored at least 10 points in all seven games she's played in, with 20 or more points in five games, including each of the past four. Her streak of 20-point games is tied for the fifth-longest by a Jayhawk player since 1999. Since returning from injury on Jan. 1 vs. West Virginia, Davis is averaging 22.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 65.4 percent (35-52) from the field.
Junior guard
S'Mya Nichols extended her streak of scoring in double figures to nine consecutive games after scoring 11 points with seven rebounds at Baylor. Nichols was 3-of-4 from the free throw line to maintain her lead nationally in both free throws made (118) and attempted (142) this season. In the game, Nichols made the 500th free throw of her career, and she's now just three away from Lynette Woodard's school record of 505.
Senior forward
Lilly Meister recorded her second double-double at Kansas with 11 points and 10 rebounds at Baylor. Meister has now scored in double figures six times in the past eight games, including a career-high 22 points in the Jan. 4 win at UCF. She's fifth on the team in scoring at 9.8 points per game and leads the Jayhawks with 7.3 rebounds per game.
Senior guard
Elle Evans has hit multiple three-pointers in four-straight games and five of the past six after going 2-for-4 from downtown at Baylor. Evans is back to leading the nation in three-point accuracy, shooting 51.3 percent (41-80) from long range. She's one of two players in the country hitting better than 50 percent of three-point attempts this season.
Oklahoma State is the first of three opponents that Kansas will face twice during league play. The Cowgirls come to Lawrence with a record of 14-4 (3-2 Big 12) following a 63-56 win over Colorado on Jan. 11 in Stillwater. Both of OSU's conference losses have come to ranked foes in no. 22 Baylor (68-77) and at No. 13 TCU (61-69).
Wednesday's matchup will be the 84th all-time between Kansas and Oklahoma State, making it the fifth-most played series in Kansas women's basketball history. A Jayhawk win Wednesday night would even the all-time series at 42-42 and be KU's seventh win over OSU in the past eight meetings.
Kansas is 7-2 this season at Allen Fieldhouse, with both defeats coming during Big 12 play. Since the start of the 2021-22 season, the Jayhawks are 61-16 at home, including a 15-game win streak that spanned nearly the entire 2024 calendar year.
