La QUINTA, Calif. – The Kansas men's golf team finished in fifth place at The Prestige after the third and final round on Wednesday was canceled due to high winds. The Jayhawks finished the tournament with an opening round score of 285 (+1) and a second round score of 288 (+4) to end the tournament at 573 (+5).

The final round of the tournament was canceled due to high winds, per the host school UC Davis, and the round two finishes will determine the final score.

Stanford won the tournament with a two-round score of 563 (-5), followed by Texas Tech (-2), Oregon State (-1), Oregon (+1), and Kansas (+5) to round out the top five. Kansas has now recorded their fourth top five finish of the season.

"Arthur looked good, and Max posted a nice round for us as well. Hartej gutted out a solid round as he was battling some sickness all day long, and Luke was steady all tournament." Head coach Jamie Bermel said after the second round of the tournament.

Freshman Arthur Carlier led the Jayhawks in California, recording both rounds under par with consecutive scores of 70 (-1). Carlier tied for sixth place individually at two-under marking his second top 10 finish of the season.

Junior Will Baker finished the tournament with scores of 73-71 (+2) and tied for 19th place individually. Baker has now finished inside the top 20 for the second time this season.

Sophomore Hartej Grewal carded four birdies throughout the tournament and finished tied for 29th place with scores of 72-73 (+3).

Senior Luke Honner tied for 41st place with scores of 72-74 (+4), and carded an eagle on a 380-yard par four in the opening round on Monday.

Junior Max Jelinek made his season debut at The Prestige. Jelinek carded two birdies and an eagle in his opening round, and finished the tournament with scores of 71-81 (+10) and tied for 86th place individually.

The Kansas men's golf team is set to travel to Sea Island, Georgia to compete in the Sea Island Invitational at the Seaside Golf Course from March 9-10.
