
Three Golfers Finish Top 10 as Jayhawks Tie for Third in Georgia

St. SIMONS ISLAND, GA. – The Kansas men's golf team tied for third place at The Johnnie-O at Sea Island after finishing the tournament with scores of 269–279-825 (-39).
FGCU and Georgia Southern were the co-champions of the tournament, with three-round scores of 822 (-42), followed by Minnesota and Kansas, who tied for third at 39-under par. North Carolina State (-37) to round out the top five.
"I loved our fight coming in today," Kansas coach Jamie Bermel said. "At one point, we were 32-under and finished really well to get to 39-under. I was very pleased with the great work from our top three golfers today as Will Baker, Hartej Grewal, and Arthur Carlier all had top 10 finishes.
Junior Will Baker led the way for the Jayhawks and placed fifth as he finished the tournament with scores of 67-69-67 (-13). Baker carded 17 birdies and one eagle throughout the tournament. In finishing fifth, Baker recorded his second top five finish of the season, and has fired seven rounds in the 60's.
Sophomore Hartej Grewal scored rounds of 67-66-71 (-12) and tied for sixth place individually. This marks Grewal's fourth top 10 finish of the season, while he has now recorded nine rounds in the 60's.
Freshman Arthur Carlier finished the tournament with scores of 66-74-64 (-12), while putting together his best round on Tuesday. Carlier carded 16 birdies in the tournament, including eight birdies in round three and one eagle. Carlier tied for sixth place individually, marking his third top 10 finish of his career.
Senior Will King scored rounds of 71-70-75 (E) throughout the tournament and tied for 54th place individually.
Senior Luke Honner finished the tournament with scores of 69-75-76 (+4) and tied for 66th place individually.
Sophomore Ty Lasley competed as an individual and tied for 21st place. Lasley finished the tournament with scores of 65-76-68 (-7) while carding 12 birdies and one eagle throughout the tournament.

Kansas will travel to Johns Island, South Carolina to compete in the Hootie at Bulls Bay tournament at the Golf Club at Briar's Creek from March 22-24.
