JOHN'S ISLAND, S.C. – The Kansas men's golf team is set to compete in the Hootie Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay Golf Club in John's Island, South Carolina, from March 22-24.
The Jayhawks are coming off a top three finish at The Johnnie-O Sea Classic, where KU had three golfers finished inside the top 10 individually.
Kansas will compete in a 15-team field that includes Furman, West Virginia, Kent State, East Tennessee State, Missouri, Chattanooga, Clemson, Florida Gulf Coast, South Carolina, Appalachian State, Winthrop, Purdue, Coastal Carolina, and host school Charleston.
Coach Jamie Bermel will travel with a lineup of seniors Will King and Luke Honner, junior Will Baker, sophomore Hartej Grewal, and freshman Arthur Carlier. Sophomore Ty Lasley will travel with the team as an alternate throughout the tournament.
"We should have some pretty good weather, with a little wind," Bermel said. "This golf course has five par fives and if we take advantage of those, we'll have a good chance to go low this week."
Kansas is set to tee off at 9:30 a.m. CT on hole 10. The Jayhawks will be paired with Appalachian State and West Virginia.
