LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawks are headed to Texas for the third time this season and set to face a ranked opponent for the fourth time as KU meets No. 16 Texas Tech on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock.

Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Ron Thulin (play-by-play) and Rachel Galligan (analyst) on the call. Fans can also listen on the Jayhawk Radio Network from Learfield, with Steven Davis calling the action.

Kansas (15-10, 5-8 Big 12) has won two straight and four its past six games following an 80-71 victory over Cincinnati on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks also picked up a home win on Wednesday, defeating BYU 81-60. KU currently sits at No. 50 in the NET Rankings with five games remaining in the regular season.

Freshman forward
Jaliya Davis led the Jayhawks with 28 points in both games last week, while also pulling down a career-high 12 rebounds against BYU for her first career double-double. Davis was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week on Monday for the sixth straight week, matching the conference record held by Ayoka Lee of Kansas State from the 2019-20 season.

A McDonald's All-American and five-star recruit, Davis is the only freshman in the nation with four or more games of 28+ points in conference play. She is averaging 21.9 points per game for the year, which ranks second among freshmen nationally. Davis is the second-leading scorer in the Big 12 during conference play with 22.9 ppg and she leads the conference in field goal percentage, hitting 65.2 percent from the field. Davis has scored 20+ points in five of the past six games and 11 times overall this season.

S'Mya Nichols is the No. 4 scorer in the Big 12, averaging 18.0 points per game for the season. With 16 points in the win over Cincinnati, Nichols became the 15th player in program history to score 1,500 career points. With 1,514 career points entering the week, Nichols is five points away from passing Angie Snider (1982-84) for No. 14 on the all-time scoring list.

Lilly Meister has scored in double figures in back-to-back games after going for 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocks against Cincinnati. Meister is fourth on the team in scoring at 9.2 points per game, while leading Kansas in rebounding (6.6) and blocked shots (25) for the year.

Elle Evans matched a season-high with four made three-pointers in the Cincinnati game. Evans continues to lead the nation in three-point accuracy, hitting 49.6 percent (56-113) from long range this season.

Kansas tied a season high with eight blocked shots in the Cincinnati game, led by three from Meister and two apiece from Davis and Evans. The Jayhawks rank sixth in the Big 12 with 3.5 blocked shots per game for the year.

Kansas now faces the No. 16-ranked Texas Tech team that is 22-3 on the year and one game out of first place in the Big 12 at 9-3. The Lady Raiders have won consecutive games over No. 12 TCU (62-60) and Houston (85-61) after suffering all three of their defeats in a four-game span from Jan. 17-28. Tech ranks fifth in the Big 12 in scoring at 73.8 points per game, while holding opponents to 56.4 points on average to rank second in the league in scoring defense.
