QUOTABLES & NOTABLES
"They're a good team and obviously their pitcher was really good and held us at bay. Their starter held us at bay for the first three and then we missed some opportunities to score. I think it became a situation where we kept them in the game long enough and when you do that in baseball the ball is going to find holes. I think the big one was we had (Erick) Dessens 0-2 and we give up the home run and that separated it a little bit. Then, we couldn't get a stop after that in the ninth. They did a really nice job. They had 12 hits and we only walked them once. We punched out nine, but that wasn't the issue. We punched out 14 times on offense. That was about as bad of an offensive performance as we've had in a really long time." – Head Coach Dan Fitzgerald
Â
• Kansas moved to 16-9 overall this season.
• Mungarrieta hit his sixth home run of the season.
• Dykhoff finished a home run shy of the cycle. He went 3-for-5 with a single, double, triple and two RBIs.
• Tyson LeBlanc recorded three hits. He has multiple hits in four of his last five games.
• Lopez made his first career start.
