I think our guys love playing baseball," head coach
Dan Fitzgerald said. "I know the mind and soul of a competitor is once that game starts, you're focused on the spin of the baseball and never taking your eye off that thing. They're mature in a lot of ways. There's a lot of maturing that we need to do, but they enjoy competing as much as any group I've been around."

Rahe was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week and Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. The Big 12 weekly honors were the first of his career.
Rahe was crucial for Kansas in its perfect 4-0 week against ranked opponents that included a win at No. 19 Nebraska and a three-game series sweep of No. 12 UCF. He was on mound to finish three of the four wins against ranked competition, earning a win and two saves.
The Marion, Iowa, native threw seven innings and did not allow an earned run last week. Rahe posted a 0.57 WHIP and opponents had only a .083 batting average against him.
