Kansas Spirit Squad Announces 2026-27 Rock Chalk Dance Team

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas Spirit Squad has finalized its 2026–27 Rock Chalk Dance Team, as announced by Head Coach Katie Burris, Assistant Coach Brooke Beck, and Spirit Squad Director Kaitlin Shulman.
This year's selection process challenged candidates to demonstrate both range and refinement through a multi-day audition built to mirror the demands of the program. Athletes performed in a variety of styles—including pom, jazz, and hip hop—placing a strong emphasis on technique, musicality, and performance presence. The process also incorporated game day material, KU traditions, and interview components, offering a comprehensive look at each candidate's ability to represent Kansas.
The result was a deep and competitive field, defined not only by talent, but by preparation, discipline, and a commitment to excellence in all areas.
Final team members were selected by a panel of alumni, athletics staff, and dance professionals from across the country. The Rock Chalk Dance Team continues to set the standard for performance and representation, carrying forward the tradition of excellence at Kansas while shaping the next era of the program.
