LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas Spirit Squad has announced its 2026–27 Cheerleading team, as selected by Head Coach Drake Stafford, Assistant Coed Coach Trent Pentecost, Assistant All-Girl Coach Gabby Dorsen, and Spirit Squad Director Kaitlin Shulman.
This year's tryout process brought together a highly competitive group of athletes from across the country for a multi-day evaluation designed to reflect the demands and expectations of the Kansas program. Candidates were challenged through game day material, elite stunting sequences, tumbling evaluations, and interview components, showcasing not only athletic ability, but leadership, presence, and commitment to representing KU.
Throughout the process, athletes demonstrated an impressive level of preparation, teamwork, and pride in the University of Kansas tradition, making this year's selection process one of the most competitive in recent program history.
Final team members were selected by a panel consisting of alumni, athletics staff, and cheer industry professionals. The 2026–27 squad will feature both co-ed and all-girl stunt groups as the program continues its longstanding tradition of excellence, spirit, and representation at Kansas.
