The Jayhawks have the most wins of any Big 12 team this season and 17 of the 33 victories have come on the road. The 17 road wins are tied for the most in the country. KU is one 13 Division I programs with 33 or more wins this season.
Â
The Jayhawks recorded their fifth series sweep of the season and the fourth in Big 12 play this past weekend at Kansas State. It was the Jayhawks' first three-game series sweep of the Wildcats in Manhattan since 1963. Kansas scored 37 runs in the sweep at Kansas State.

KU is in first place in the Big 12 standings, and the 17-4 conference record is the best record in conference play through 21 games in school history. The Jayhawks have won six consecutive Big 12 series for the first time in program history. Kansas also has at least 15 conference wins in three consecutive seasons for the first time in school history.
Â
The success of this year's team began a season ago in 2025. Kansas is the only team in the Big 12 with at least 75 regular season wins (42 in 2025, 33 in 2026) over the last two seasons. KU is one of five Division I programs with 75 or more regular seasons wins between the 2025 and 2026 seasons combined (Kansas, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Georgia, UCLA).
Â
Wichita State (26-19, 10-8 American) has won three of its last five games, including a series win this past weekend at home against Rice. The series ended with a 13-3 run-rule victory for the Shockers. Wichita State has a potent lineup that is hitting .305 as a team this season.
