LINCOLN, Neb. – Kansas baseball is set for a challenging week that begins on Tuesday night against No. 19 Nebraska at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park. The Jayhawks have four games this week against ranked opponents.
Â
"Tuesday will be another awesome opportunity for us on the road against a really good Nebraska team," head coach
Dan Fitzgerald said. "It's the start of another great week against two really great opponents."
Â
Kansas (22-10, 9-3 Big 12) is 12-2 over its last 14 games and is averaging 10.4 runs per game over that stretch. During that period, Kansas has scored at least eight runs in all 12 wins. The Jayhawks are currently riding a six-game winning streak. KU has scored at least 10 runs in five consecutive games for the first time since 2011.
Â
The Jayhawks recorded their third series sweep of the season and second in conference play this past weekend against Utah. Kansas scored 41 runs in the three games, marking the most ever by the Jayhawks in a three-game Big 12 series. KU trailed in all three games and came back to win. This season, Kansas has 16 comeback victories after setting a school record with 26 come-from-behind wins a season ago.
Â

Â
Nebraska (26-6, 11-1 Big Ten) is ranked No. 14 by NCBWA and Perfect Game, No. 17 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, No. 19 by D1Baseball and No. 20 by Baseball America. With a 26-6 record to start the season, Nebraska is off to its best start since 2006. The Huskers have gone a perfect 15-0 at home this season and have won 21 of their last 22 games overall. Nebraska comes into Tuesday's matchup with a 7-0 record in midweek games this season.
