LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas men's basketball incoming freshmen Davion Adkins and Taylen Kinney will participate in the upcoming 2026 USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team training camp at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Training camp begins Thursday, May 21, with the 12-member team expected to be announced before the team departs for the 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup, scheduled for June 1-7 in Leon, Mexico.
Adkins (6-foot-9) competed at Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2025-26, where his team posted a 38-4 record. The Arlington, Texas, native who has a 7-foot-2 wingspan, was the top-rated player in Texas before announcing his plans to play at Prolific Prep.
Kinney (6-foot-2) was a 2026 McDonald's All-American who competed for RWE in the Overtime Elite program in Atlanta. Last season he averaged 18.8 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per contest.
Adkins and Kinney have participated in USA Basketball minicamps before being selected for the upcoming camp. In 2024 and 2025 both attended minicamps for the USA Men's Junior National Team. Also, in 2024 both took part in the Men's U17 National Team minicamp. Kinney also participated in the training camp for the 2025 USA Men's U19 National Team.
Training camp will be led by 2026 USA Men's U18 National Team head coach Anthony Grant (Dayton) and assistant coaches Matt Langel (Colgate) and Nate Oats (Alabama).
