LAWRENCE, Kan. – Amanda Gyllner has signed to play women's golf at Kansas, KU head coach
Lindsay Kuhle announced today. Gyllner will be a sophomore at Kansas for the 2026-27 season after transferring from Alabama.
"Amanda is a strong student and athletic golfer who has a ton of speed and power," Kuhle said. "We recruited Amanda in 2024 in Sweden and saw her potential as she had a very solid summer with quarter finals finish at British Girls and represented Sweden on the national team from 2020-2025 and played in European Girl's Team Championship in 2024."
A native of Gavle, Sweden, Gyllner played in six tournaments during the 2025-26 season with a 76.8 scoring average while at Alabama. She posted two top-25 finishes, including a tie for 21st at the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate, March 28-30. She also competed at the SEC Championships April 26-20.
Gyllner was on the Swedish Junior National Team in 2024 and finished in the quarterfinals of the British Girls Junior that same year. In 2025, she won the Angso International Junior Masters Invitational with rounds of 68-66-72--206 and the Swedish Junior Classics by four shots with a three-round 227. Also in 2025, Gyllner posted a top 20 finish at the Annika Invitational.
"Amanda has a lot of passion for the game of golf, brings great energy and confidence to those around her, and is a strong competitor that can come in and help our team in those areas," Kuhle said. "We look forward to Amanda stepping into this team and having an immediate impact due to her high-level experience and competitiveness."
Gyllner is the fourth newcomer on the Kansas women's golf roster for the 2026-27 season. She joins Lavanya Gupta (New Delhi, India), Hannah Hall (Rockledge, Fla.), and Elizabeth Wilson (Nottinghamshire, England), who signed last fall.
